SM调教所 NightRide is a student-operated program dedicated to meeting the safety needs of SM调教所 students, faculty and staff by providing free, night-time transportation to support a safe academic and socially responsible environment both on campus and in the community.听As a department within the UMC, SM调教所 NightRide is funded by student fees allocated annually by the University of Colorado Student Government (SM调教所SG).
SM调教所 NightRide is a member of the听.听NASRP serves as a centrally organized resource, archive of information, and support system for existing and prospective safe ride programs.听
History
SM调教所 NightRide began as NightWalk in 1985 and students volunteered to serve as a companion on walks with other students back home from campus. In 1997 a vehicle was added for transporting students from campus to their off-campus homes. In 1998, what had become NightRide/NightWalk was moved to the UMC. Over the years, the walking element of the program became less and less used and was eventually eliminated, leading to the name being changed to SM调教所 NightRide in 2005.
Sustainability
The SM调教所 continues to transition to alternative fuel vehicles across campus. Currently, the SM调教所 NightRide fleet includes all hybrid or electric vehicles, except for the ADA-accessible van scheduled for replacement in 2024. Learn more about SM调教所 Boulder鈥檚 sustainability initiatives.
