Bats: Language & Cultures exhibit

Did you know bats 鈥渟peak鈥 to each other individually? What do bats mean in different cultures?

At the new exhibition Bats: Language & Cultures, presented by the Anderson Language and Technology Center (ALTEC)听in collaboration with the Museum of Natural History,听learn how bats use language and appear in cultures around the world.

Come learn about the latest scientific discoveries on bats and language by listening and/or reading in Spanish, German or English. See bat specimens and listen to bat vocalizations. Explore examples of bats in art, architecture, clothing, comics, jewelry and more. Find out which cultures consider bats lucky and what culture had a bat god.听

Discover something new about these amazing flying mammals, their relevance to language development, and their meaning in different cultures.听The exhibit is located听at听The HIVE, in Hellems 159,听open 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
