Permanent prescription take-back box located in the lobby of the听Police and Parking Services building
This Saturday, April 29, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is holding a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event is designed to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused听and unwanted prescription drugs.
This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue: Medicines听stored in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse听and abuse. Additionally, Americans should be advised their usual methods for disposing of unused medicines鈥攆lushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash鈥攑ose听potential safety and health hazards.
Last year, the SM调教所 Boulder Police Department (SM调教所PD) had a permanent prescription take-back box installed in the lobby of the Police and Parking Services building, which is located at 1050 Regent Dr.
Campus community members can dispose of unwanted prescription medications in this box at any time. SM调教所PD is听able to accept over-the-counter and prescription medications with the following exceptions:
- No听needles or sharps,
- No听mercury (thermometers),
- No听oxygen cylinders or pressurized canisters,
- No听chemotherapy or radioactive substances, and
- No听illicit drugs.
