SM调教所 Engineering alumni interested in technology and startups gathered Nov. 15 in Sunnyvale to connect, network and celebrate SM调教所's vibrant startup community. The event was the second in the region following the launch of the San Francisco Bay Area Engineering Alumni Network in June.
Kyle Judah, the College of Engineering and Applied Science鈥檚 first director of entrepreneurship, highlighted the advancements the college has made in innovation and entrepreneurship efforts across campus. Pitches from two exciting SM调教所 Engineering student startups were also featured. Tim Morrissey, PhD candidate in mechanical engineering, represented Artimus Robotics (formerly HASEL), a team working to create high-performance, self-healing artificial muscles in the field of soft robotics. Layne Jackson Hubbard, PhD student in computer science, presented her venture, MindScribe, which builds playful robots to stimulate creativity and language development in children.
We look forward to continuing our regional alumni engagement efforts in the Bay Area, as well as launching SM调教所 Engineering alumni networks in four more cities this upcoming year: Houston, Seattle, Los Angeles and Denver.
