Colin Williams is a Senior International Admissions Counselor in SM调教所鈥檚 Office of Undergraduate Admissions, where his responsibilities include international recruitment and developing analytics and statistical methodologies to inform SM调教所鈥檚 strategic long-range planning initiatives with international undergraduates. Colin鈥檚 career and diverse interests include extensive international experience. 聽During his tenure as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State, he was a member of the management team overseeing the construction of the new U.S. Embassy in Beijing, PRC. 聽He received the Distinguished Honor Award, one of the State Department鈥檚 highest awards, in recognition for his role in bi-lateral negotiations between China and the U.S. for the $432 million dollar construction project. 聽In Asia-Pacific, Colin鈥檚 professional experience also includes product management in the telecommunications sector, business development and supply chain management in the renewable energy sector, video game production for social media and consoles, international education, as well as work in CNN鈥檚 Beijing Bureau. 聽In Europe, Colin has been involved the United Nations Development Programme, the World Economic Forum, and the Office of the President of Romania during the country鈥檚 largest PR campaign for NATO entry. 聽As a Fulbright Scholar, Colin focused his research on post-1989 Romanian media, politics, and presidential elections. 聽A Boulder native and fluent in several languages, including Mandarin Chinese and Romanian, Colin received a B.A. in International Comparative Studies with a minor in Mandarin Chinese and Film & Video Studies from Duke University and a MBA in Finance and Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
